January 20th, 2023

Hi Readers!

Something I’d love to do more of in 2023 is read more of the books I’m anticipating and hopefully get a review out for them as soon as they’re released. So I’ll be reading more review copies and Netgalley arcs in 2023. Here are some I’m looking the most forward to reading…

The Happy Place by Emily Henry
This seems to be both second chance and fake dating, and I think that sounds amazing. Bring on Summer so I can go to the beach and devour this.

The Only One Left by Riley Sager
I’ll always be excited for a new Riley Sager book. It’s always a great time reading his books. So far, he hasn’t released a hugely disappointing one. I don’t even know what this ones about. But I will be reading it.

Chain of Thorns by Cassandra Clare
This is a possibility. I still haven’t actually started the first book in this trilogy Chain of Gold. Hopefully I like it and will be reading this in February.

Percy Jackson and the Chalice of the Gods by Rick Riordan
I still can’t believe this is happening. I feel thirteen again!

Yellowface by R.F. Kuang
I love the premise of this and I look forward to finally reading a Kuang book.

Love, Theoretically by Ali Hazelwood
Even though I completely forgot about Love On The Brain’s existance, I will be giving both that and her latest one a go.

A Day of Fallen Night by Samantha Shanon
I’m excited about this one, but I know I’m not going to be reading it this year. I’ll be waiting for the paperback to be released. I still haven’t gotten around the Priory of the Orange Tree…

Maame by Jessica George
This has a lot of hype around it and I think it sounds like a great read. I’m kind of expecting to see this on the Women’s Prize for Fiction longlist…

Lies We Sing To The Sea by Sarah Underwood
I remember seeing the cover reveal of this on twitter and since then I have wanted to read the book. It’s another feminist greek myth retelling and I am a sucker for those.

Heartstopper Volume Five? by Alice Oseman
I don’t think this is confirmed for 2023 but if she does release one this year, I will absolutely be reading it.

What 2023 release are you most excited to read?

Thanks For Reading,
Jess X

  2. I want to read Heartstopper! I have started the Percy Jackson books with our grandson and am loving them. Most importantly I am loving his excitement knowing I am reading them at the same time as him and we can discuss. :)Jen
