Hi Readers!
Award season is officially underway now that the Women’s Prize longlist has been announced!
As usual, I did my best to predict what could be on this longlist, and as usual I failed miserably. Of the books longlisted, I predicted a grand total of three. I’ve read one book (The Marriage Portrait), and eight of them I’ve never even heard of.
I’ve reserved all but Black Butterlies at the library (as that was the only one they didn’t have on their website). In terms of what I plan on reading, it honestly just depends on what comes in. Some have really long waiting lists, some could be in transit tomorrow. I’m excited to see what I do think of what I get to read!
If you haven’t seen it yet, here are the books Longlisted for this years Women’s Prize for Fiction!
I would say I’m most excited to read Trespasses, I’m A Fan, and Memphis. Demon Copperhead also intrigues me, especially since I just finished reread David Copperfield. I’ve also never read a book from a dolphin’s perspective before, so that could be interesting…
What are your plans for this years longlist? Anything you can’t wait to get your hands on?
Thanks For Reading,
Jess X
